Yasnaya Polyana is the last home and resting place of the great Lev Tolstoy. Here he lived in his beloved nature and wrote some of his greatest works, including War and Peace. Located 4 hours south of Moscow near Tula city, this trip is also a great way to see some of the peaceful Russian countryside. Lev Tolstoy house is open as a museum, and you are free to relax and walk through the large estate. As he was a modest man, Tolstoy grave is unmarked, small and simple.
